News Brief: The PPP May Include Expenses for Cloud Computing Services

You will notice that eligible expenses now include “payments for business software or cloud computing.”

The rules are open to interpretation. Speak with your own accountant in order to confirm their understanding. Our current interpretation is that it appears Cloud 9’s solution is an eligible expense for PPP usage, and in some situations could be a forgivable expense. This might even extend to the first round of PPP. The SBA may issue further clarification in the coming days. Again, speak with your own accountant; this might be a unique opportunity.
